Position: Post-Doctoral Researcher

She received the Medical Engineering degree from the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in 2011. Her thesis focused on the study, characterization and application of inertial sensors for human trunk posture measurement.

In 2015 Laura Sbernini graduated with her PhD, “Innovative Technology and Medical Engineering for Surgery”, from the Department of Experimental Medicine and Surgery of University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, with the following thesis: “Development and testing of a sensory glove based system for objectively assessing surgical training”. Her research dealt with the study of hand motion, mainly focusing on surgical skill assessment and rehabilitation purpose.

She also developed expertise with software interfaces for measurement control (she is a Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer), statistics and data analysis.

Laura Sbernini is currently a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”.
